Boone County Selects Ci for New Countywide P25 Radio System

Boone County Joint Communications, located in Columbia, MO, has awarded Communications International (Ci) a contract for a new 8-site, 10-channel,L3Harris P25 Phase 2 trunked radio network to support the Countyโ€™s first responders, as well as the cities of Columbia, Centralia, Ashland, and Hallsville. Boone County is in the state’s Mid-Missouri region, with the county seat being Columbia, which is Missouri’s fourth-largest city and home to the University of Missouri.

This new P25 system will deliver robust, countywide coverage, including in-building coverage, for all city and county first responders that will provide enhanced coverage beyond the current VHF system. Multiple layers of redundancy are built into the system design, and the use of multi-band subscriber radios will ensure reliable communications when it matters most. The multi-band radios will also significantly strengthen interoperability with neighboring counties and state agencies during severe weather events or other emergencies.

Ci looks forward to partnering with Boone County Joint Communications to implement a public safety-grade communications network that will serve the first responders and constituents of Boone County for years to come.
