Communications International (Ci) has been chosen to supply and install a new P25 digital public safety radio system for Volusia County, Florida, using the latest communications technology.

Ci will replace Volusia County’s current legacy system with a turnkey,15-site 800 MHz linear simulcast network that incorporates the latest L3Harris P25 Phase 2 technology. Ci’s customized solution will enable Volusia County’s users to benefit from better reliability, seamless roaming and increased coverage, as well as provide interoperability with agencies in neighboring counties.

Volusia County’s new system design features L3Harris’ Firstnet-certified XL series of radios, the BeOn® push-to-talk platform for cellular phones and smart devices, and L3Harris’ Symphony™ consoles at the County’s dispatch locations.

“For the past 25 years, we at Ci have made it our mission to put the safety of Volusia County’s citizens and public safety community first,” stated Director of Strategic Accounts and Alliances Henry Erfurt. “For us that mission has not changed. By providing the County with a radio network solution that enables them to achieve their goals while maximizing current technology investments, they are ensured the safest, most seamless experience for their users.” Erfurt adds, “We are truly grateful for Volusia County’s continued confidence as a proven and trusted partner as we embark on their migration to P25.”
